Since the introduction of Service pack 2 for Windows, Microsoft have employed a security feature which effects all web pages that contain Flash or Active-X content (dynamic media content).

When such pages are viewed in Internet Explorer, a frame is shown with the message "click here to activate and use this control". The objective of this security feature was to prevent any active web component from compromising user security.

However, other than annoying the whole web development community, it makes browsing dynamic or flash-based websites a somewhat convoluted process in that menus and flash widgets now require two mouse clicks - one to activate and one to use.

SwissCMS now includes a workaround, using javascript, which avoids any such issues.

This will be added to the next public release of SwissCMS (including the demo version), due out in July 2007.
