Shaken. Not Stirred.

We're withdrawing public distribution (i.e., distributions of SwissCMS for the client to install themselves) from July 2008.  We're still offering hosted installations of all license types on our own hosting servers.

Why?

Well, we've now had a year or so to test multiple live instances of SwissCMS and gain valuable feedback from those clients using it.  As a result, we've decided to carry out the following core improvements and additions:

• Complete rewrite of the Gallery Plugin based on 'Magnolia' - our AJAX multimedia gallery which support jpegs, MP3s and FLV video, bulk uploading and language changes
• A user hierarchy or privilege system - allowing a sliding-scale of user permissions and actions
• Improved statistics
  
• The integration of the MooTools or Dojo AJAX framework (we're undecided yet)
• An overhaul of the licensing schema and engine
• A complete rewrite of the CSS engine to allow far greater design flexibility
• Improved PayPal Shop-Front plugin with a Basket feature
  
• General tweaks and improvements to administrative features
• Packaging it all up into a reliable auto-installer (current issues still exist with certain server configurations - esp. register_globals and magic_quotes)
• A troubleshooting/debugging feature to assist with problem installations

We're itching to release SwissCMS to the public for self-installation but we want to make sure it's rock-solid stable in as many different environments as possible.
